As the long awaited World Cup 2022 semi-final quickly approaches, here is a peek at the jerseys each country's players will be sporting as they impress (or underwhelm) over the upcoming semi-final matches. We take a look at the iconic kits that will be worn at the FIFA tournament, from Argentina to Croatia, France and Morocco. These kits along with the players and their contribution in the upcoming matches will become World Cup history.
Argentina FIFA World Cup 2022 kit
The home jersey for Argentina's men's national team, captained by captain Lionel Messi, has been presented by adidas Football and the Asociación del Ftbol Argentino (AFA). In their opening game in the 2022 Copa América Femenina against their bitter rival Brazil, the Argentine women's national team will wear their brand-new uniform. The famous sky blue and white stripes of the two-time world champions may be seen on the front and back of Argentina's home kit for the 2022 World Cup. Its rounded neckline, sleeve cuffs, sides, waistline, and shoulders all have black accents. The player names and numbers on the kit, as well as the updated adidas emblem, are all printed in black. Only the front of the new Argentina 2022 World Cup home football shirt features the team's traditional stripes. The back stripes are quite unique; instead of having stripes of the same width, there are two narrower sky blue stripes in the middle and two bigger ones on either side of the shirt. In order to mimic the banners that Argentina supporters roll out in the stands during games, the shirt's core blue stripe is divided into two smaller stripes on the back. On the sign-off area of the jersey, the Sol de Mayo (May Sun) of the nation's flag is embroidered in metallic gold.
Croatia FIFA World Cup 2022 kit
The Croatia FIFA World Cup 2022 Qatar home and away uniforms have been made available by Nike Football. They will make their UEFA Nations League debuts in the upcoming meetings between the World Cup 2018 champions Denmark and Austria. The recognisable red and white checkered are presented in an innovative way on the Nike Croatia 2022 home football kit. For applications, Nike combines the two primary colours with "Battle Blue." The red and white 2022–23 home jersey is said to be inspired by the motif of a fiery heart, perfectly reflecting the passionate, hardworking, and fiery nature of the Croatian people and their national team, according to the Croatian Football Federation (Hrvatski nogometni savez, HNS). It is a modernised redesign of the Croatian national emblem, the checkered kit, which has gained international recognition. The placement of the checkers on the shirt is asymmetrical for a modern appearance. The HNS crest and Nike Swoosh are located in the middle of a white space on the front of the shirt. “I am extremely proud that I had the privilege of wearing the beautiful Croatian jersey the most times, and I am looking forward to a new kit that follows the recognizable tradition. Those magical red and white checkers make the Croatian jersey the most recognizable in the world, and the new design reminds me a little of 1998 and the legendary team who inspired my generation. France FIFA World Cup 2022 kit
The France national football team's home and away uniforms for the 2022 FIFA World Cup and the 2022–23 international campaign have been unveiled by Nike and the Fédération française de football. The away kit graphic features Clairefontaine, the Arc de Triomphe, the Cockerel, and other recognisable French and Les Bleus symbols. It was inspired by French toile de Jouy. According to Nike: The new French collection celebrates the France Nouveau, or New France—a fusion of the country’s heritage and future. The oak leaf and olive branch pattern of the home kit represents strength, solidarity and peace. Classic French design cues include a tricolor insert on the short, a jacquard sock and cuff and gold detailing. With this new France home kit, Nike has stayed on course. The men's shirts this year are plainer, with gold reappearing for the numbers, emblems, and flourishes. The French women's team received the most beautiful, horticulturally-patterned top for their Euro 2022 journey to the semi-finals. France's 2022–23 World Cup kit features brand-new, high-end football shirt designs from Nike Football. They are in the defending world champions' usual dark blue and white home uniforms.
Morocco FIFA World Cup 2022 kit
The Morocco FIFA World Cup 2022 away jersey has been made public by PUMA. It complements the Atlas Lions' new home jersey in their match lineup for 2022–2023. The red and green of the North African nation's flag are used at the v-neck and sleeve cuffs of the predominantly white Morocco World Cup 2022 alternate shirt. The Fédération Royale Marocaine de Football badge and a PUMA logo are positioned at the top of a tonal pattern that was influenced by traditional Moroccan mosaics. In the centre of the image are printed the player numbers in red. The signoff spot on the kit's back reads "MOROCCO" in Arabic.
This jersey, a contemporary update of the 1998 version with the colours inverted, is guaranteed to hold a very special place in the hearts of Moroccan supporters.
