Jude Bellingham begs fans to ‘stick with us’ after England suffer World Cup heartbreak

Updated: Dec 13, 2022

Last night England suffered a 2-1 defeat to reigning World Cup champions France in a Quarter final tie. The game itself was one England feel like they should’ve won, after going toe to toe with France they couldn’t find a way to bring it home.

Harry Kane missed a crucial penalty that would of put England level with 10 minutes to go. The now joint England goal scorer could be seen distraught at the final whistle.

Jude Bellingham spoke to talk sport about his reaction on the pitch at the time.

“As the leader of the team on and off the pitch, I felt like it was important to keep him (Kane) in the game mentality.”

Jude Bellingham was the first to approach Kane after the miss and is showing the world how mature he is as a player and person, considering only being 19 years of age.

Jude then spoke highly on Kane, “For me, I can't thank him enough for how he's integrated me into the team and I've seen him deliver time and time again.”

Kane registered two goals and three assists on the lead up to the quarters and got golden boot in the 2018 Russian World Cup.

Jude Bellingham didn’t hesitate to remind his skipper of the achievements he has conquered with England, claiming ‘he’s done more then enough for his country’

Jude continued to talk about the feelings towards Kane in the dressing room saying ‘there’s no negative feeling towards him and what he’s done for this country.’

Many believe this may have been Harry Kane's last World Cup but with Jude Bellingham being 18 the Dortmund man has at least another 4 opportunities to compete at the biggest level.

Bellingham was asked about what he wants from the fans now and he replied with one straight sentence ‘Stick with us.'

Some fans have been seen sending racist messages towards Bukayo Saka and Marcus Rashford, repeating the horror after the Euro 2020 heart break.

Fans will feel this was a big opportunity missed, considering they would of faced the dark horses Morocco in the Semi-finals.
